How to Wash Your Car at Home in the Saudi Heat
Share
In Saudi Arabia, dust settles on your car every day and the strong sun can bake it onto the paint. Washing at home saves trips to the car wash, as long as you follow a few simple rules.
1. Choose the right time
Wash early in the morning or after sunset. Soap and water dry too fast on a hot panel and leave spots. Park in the shade whenever you can.
2. Rinse the dust off first
Start with a full rinse from the roof down. This removes loose sand before you touch the paint, which helps prevent fine scratches.
3. Use car shampoo, not dish soap
Dish soap can strip wax and dry out rubber seals. A proper car shampoo is gentler and rinses clean.
4. Wash from top to bottom
Clean the roof, glass and upper panels first. Do the wheels and lower sills last, since they hold the most dirt.
5. Dry with microfiber
Dry straight away with a clean microfiber towel to avoid water marks.
A tool that makes it easier
A cordless pressure washer lets you wash anywhere, even without a nearby tap, because it can draw water from a bucket. Our Cordless Car Pressure Washer is made for exactly this.
To keep the cabin cooler while parked, add retractable window sun shades.
